Pre-Script: This post is about my thoughts and views about a Tamil Movie and not review. Purely No intention to judge and predict others talents.
Good vs Evil…that tells the one liner of the movie “Thani Oruvan”. A script bounded movie with a strong screenplay, right into the head dialogues, perfect cast and background score (BGM). Good to see Arvind Swamy back on screen with a lot of style factors. Elegant look, mesmerizing voice, sexy ascent etc., everything related to Arvind Swamy is awesome. Usual kind of role for Jeyam Ravi and he did his job perfect. Handsome and suited well for Cop character. A risky movie for him as the antagonist’s character has a lot of scopes when compared to him. Nayantara’s role is short but sweet and perfect. One can simply sit and watch the screen presence of her.
Smart Villian characters ( Smart in looks and brain ) have always been a hit in Tamil Industry. This time, the whole credit goes to the character Siddharth Abhimanyu (Arvind Swamy). He tempts us to watch this movie for the second time.
Dialogues were an additional strength to this movie. Truth and depth in few dialogues added more value. Hats off to the writer and director Raja Mohan & Co-writer Subha. Casting is the bigger strength of this movie. This movie has the perfect cast in each and every role starting from Cop friends of Jeyam Ravi to co-villain characters. Haven’t expected a great BGM music from HipHop Thamiza, songs were also good. Especially lyrics in “Thani Oruvan” and “Theemai Thaan Vellum”songs are excellent.
Overall a brilliant movie with good and strong social message. It is been a big surprise, as most of us haven’t expected this kind of a brilliance from Dir.Raja. Anyways, thanks for the wonderful experience and best wishes to do more of this brilliance in future scripts. Good breakthrough movie for Jeyam Ravi and of course for Arvind Swamy.
Perks: Got to see a Facebook post from a friend with the imagination of Kamal Hasan & RajiniKanth in this movie as Good and Evil. Really a good thought and just imagining the success and reach of the movie. 🙂
