It’s all about Just Living and Better Living.

Its all about the life of the teens in the society (lives under the poverty line, lives in the remote parts of the state)…its all about their so called life in the so called profession. They earn few thousands (average 3K) every month by loosing everything they have. Its all about the people we watch as a sales person in the famous shops of  chennai’s most crowded area T-Nagar, Purasaivakkam etc., Its all about the managing capability of the owners came from south India called as Annachi…!

Angadi Theru – Again a heart touching(hitting) movie from the director Vasanthabalan. A heavy touch emotional flick with some raw truths unfolded. Yet another worst part of the society was cleanly displayed. Perfect castings…reality in camera…decent music…two hearth touching songs…and lots of emotional bombs.  Together its a good movie for those enjoy watching all kind of movies. For all the weak hearted persons and highly emotional persons…I will not suggest this movie. Sure this will create a impact on every one who had been to the famous shops (S.S. , J.T., T.I., etc.,) in T-Nagar, and famous veg south Indian restaurant(SB) in India. In the name of money everyone is cheated here…both the customers and employees. Hats off to the director for a perfect movie.

Apart from the movie…have you ever watched these peoples and their lifestyle. Lot of times I wondered at them..for a very minimal salary..they work around 10 to 12 hours a day…very hard working hours with no rest. With all the pressures and problems….we can see a smile and eager in everyone’s face…I have noticed this lot of time. I have seen lot of so called high profiled software engineers, often fed up about their  life. I’m not here to compare ..but still a thing to be learnt from these hard workers. The only things is few earn for BETTER LIVING  and most earn for just LIVING. This should change vice versa…!

LIFE is a term meant for everyone….and so for these peoples also.Nothing should be taken for granted….hope the things will change one day. I will make sure I will also be a part in this change and I am.

My best and worst of 2009 (7 of 30)

Spoken through sand…Sand Language.  It was May 09, me along with my friends from Image created two sand sculptures for creating awareness on voting. It was my first experience to work on sand sculptures, not only for me for everyone it was the first experience.

5 hours of continuous work , hot sun, cool breeze, fun talks, sand baths etc., we made it successfully. The final out was more than we expected. Everyone was happy with that. I was very much surprised and amazed to see the response from the public. Hope we changed at least few hearts to vote in the elections. It was  a great team work and I thank Image and Balaji for giving that wonderful opportunity. Sand language was really Stupendous.

My best and worst of 2009 (1 of 30)

One of my best day in 2009 was Jan 17th, the Action 2020 – Unconference. This is simply a virtual platform for all the NGO’s to work together for bringing better results and for making some collective action for the betterment of the society.

Around 33 NGO’s met in a school , one day meeting with the honour of Dr.A.P.J. Kalam’s speech over telephone. Everyone shared their views and the vision & mission of the respective NGO’s. The event gave a  great positive influence in everyones hearts. Me and two of my friends represented BLOSSOM. Had a great day.

One of the most important, happy and useful day in my life.

Meeting with Dr.Kalam at Raj Bhavan, Chennai

Oct 7th of 2009 (tomorrow) , Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is meeting  the representatives from 30  NGO’s  and will be discussing on the social grounds. Dr. Kalam wanted to meet all the NGO representatives to know more about the organizations . Will be giving some advice on the development of India through the activities of Action 2020 group, which is working towards the dream vision- India 2020. Action 2020 is a network/group which links around 35 NGO’s working in and around TamilNadu. Dr.Kalam has always shown some special interest on the Action 2020 team activities.

Dr.Kalam - the man of biggest Dreams

Blossom is also part of the Action 2020 team and our representatives (mohan & Arun) are also meeting Dr.Kalam tomorrow. And its good to see a great man interested in the NGO’s works and inspiring them by his commitment and his activities.

The meeting is scheduled on 7th Oct 2009 , 8.15 pm at RAJ BHAVAN, Chennai and the time given was one hour. And we wish the meeting should be extended for some more time. So that we can get some more ideas from Dr.Kalam to proceed further. Happy to be a part of Action 2020 and happy to meet Dr.Kalam. Let me update with the happenings soon.

Its all about BEST and REST…!

Happy Independence Day…..by saying this once can display his patriotism. This is what happening today. I better wanted to call this day as social awareness day or social service day or Activism Day. Because lots of blood donation camps. medical camps, orphanage visits etc., are arranged today almost all the orphanages would be crowded with the good hearted persons…!

The happy thing is atleast in this day most ones get some awareness that they should atleast look back at the society. The good thing is that this kind of activities will change atleast few minds to contribute more to the society.

And coming to the point…this time I can say that this day is IN-DEPENDENT day . Because more basic things are still restricted in one way or other due these worse politicians.

Happy IN-DEPENDENCE day...!

Happy IN-DEPENDENCE day...!

Lack of quality in education in govt schools, restriction of higher studies due to family economy, less investment in Research and development in all the fields, going backwards in agriculture, increase in deaths due to droughts, no safe country for girls after 9.00 pm, no safe (good) roads to drive, no freedom to enjoy 24 hrs electricity, no control in increase in daily usable, increasing orphanages, etc., The list will continue. All the above said getting worse year by year. This is not a good sign of celebrating the 60 plus years of independence.

There are more things to be mentioned as improvement. I always look at the other side….because we need more improvement. People took activism os a one day can speak about best in the country. People took activism as a second profession can speak about the rest in the country, simply the real face of the country. So I come in second category.

And finally this day really good because of the vijay TV programs. Starting from Sivakumar’s tamil related program , neeya naana, yethu sudanthiram etc., this day was full of entertainments. Usually i take off from activism on this day. 🙂

“Halwa every day at the aanganwadi”

Halwa every day at the aanganwadi“. This was the answer given by a kid when she was asked about her wish. Her name was Asha , a seven year old girl who was/is begging outside the Palace of Rani Roopmati in Mandu, a popular tourist destination in Madhya Pradesh with 48 historical monuments and an ancient love story.

Asha chatted away about her life. No, she goes to school only in afternoon and only for mi day meals , doesn’t know what ice-cream is and has not watched a film in a theater. She giggles at the name of Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, but can’t recall the name of a single film. She still begs around the monuments because foreign tourists give her good goolis (toys), pens, money and chocolates.

Everyday at noon, she stands in the queue at the aanganwadi for the mid-day meal. “They give us dalia, roti-sabji (roti and vegetables) and halwa (a sweet dish) once a week,’’ she says, waving flies away from a face covered with fungal infection. “I go for the food but don’t like school.’’ Asha dreams of having halwa everyday.

Asha - a responsible kid

Asha - a responsible kid

This little girl has practically taken charge of her own life. Her mother goes to earn a living while the father drinks all day long. She knows the exact time when to go to the aanganwadi for her lunch and then begs for that extra something she gets from tourists. A responsible kid. 🙂

This would be the status of almost all the kids begging in front of temples , tourist places etc., What would be the reason for these things…may be the irresponsible parents , irresponsible society, economy of the district, poor politics etc., but whatever may be the reason..finally the kid was affected and the hole childhood was ruined and the childishness was destroyed.

I don’t want these kids to become a doctor, scientist , IAS officer etc., but still wanted their childhood back to them and the childishness to be with them at this age. Let them fight with the life or struggle with life at the certain age and not at this age.

Only Few things affects my mind in deep. One among those is child labor/begging. Working closely on this issue to give back the childhood at least for few kids. Hope for the best.

Will you be Remembered ?

Got to read an article about the speech given by  Dr.Kalam  to 2007 batch IAS trainees at Mussoorie. Here goes the direct points from him…..

  • I visualize a scene “What the IAS officers of 2007 batch will be remembered for?” Will you be remembered for a visionary action for the nation?
  • Will you be remembered for revitalizing or revolutionizing in your district, the integrated Primary Health care  Centre as a Public-private-partnership?
  • Will you be remembered for working and creating a scheme in partnership with agriculture research institutes, extension workers and farmers for doubling output of food-grains in your district and thereby increasing the per capita income of each of the farmers?
  • Will you be remembered for ensuring that dropout from schools in your district reaches virtually to zero through your innovative actions?
  • Will you be remembered for making your district a fossil fuel free district? That means, villages in your district will transformed into bio-wind-solar villages.
  • Will you be remembered for establishing number of PURA complexes (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) in your district? This will provide physical, electronic and knowledge connectivity leading to economic connectivity that is enhanced earning capacity of the rural citizens.

A perfect and meaning full content I have read in recent times. I wish every IAS officers should be remembered at-least for one of the above said points.
