Dance of Democracy – TN Elections 2016

Cheap politicals stunts will create a bad example for future young politicians. (Next Gen. Politicians). Tamil Nadu is experiencing the heights of cheap political stunts towards May 2016 elections. DMDK’s negotiation tactics,  PMK’s day dream for becoming CM of Tamil Nadu, DMK’s begging attitude for an alliance with DMDK, pathetic unnoticed BJP for no major calls for an alliance, no comments on Congress and other minor parties and finally silent and helpless AIADMK.

Aslo, we got to see few interesting happenings,

  1. PMK’s simple and effective and most needed manifesto ( but from a worse visionary -party head )
  2. Seeman’s NTK with effective and clean manifesto and principles ( not strong enough to win..but a good start if he maintains his stand of opposing Dravidian parties in future elections too)
  3. Vaiko-Thiruma’s MNK with a mix of so-called activists turned opportunists in politics (MDMK, VCK, CPI, CPM). A good decision to join together and may win hearts if they maintain this for 2 future elections at least

Few of the top blunders are as follows ( Dance of Democracy )

  1. DMK’s Namakku Naame Thittam – Heights of political stunt ( got some positive and negative vibes equally ) but a great entertainment through memes ( thanks for that )
  2.  PMK’s “Change Progress Anbumani” and related campaigns in Obama Style promotions from A leader-party head with no clarity and no individuality
  3. Congress’s belief and assurance on winning more seats in alliance with DMK
  4. BJP’s where to go situation and waiting for a last minute call from any of the parties for an alliance
  5. AIADMK’s silent and confused attitude
  6. DMDK leaders crystal clear interviews with blabbering every time and get trapped to the journalist questions ( as the way they wanted ) and for all the enjoyable memes circulated in social media portraying DMDK leader

Apart from all these blunders, the worst was the negotiation talks from all parties to Vijayakanth except AIADMK. TN ppl witnessed historical situations like, a 50+ year old party to beg DMDK for an alliance. Finally got ditched with the decision of DMDK’s standing alone in all 234 positions. But now DMK pitched in for post-election alliance with DMDK with no regrets of getting ditched recently.

More to talk about these wonders and blunders of TN elections 2016. The worst part is, people are left with No effective manifesto, No productive schemes and No sincere promises, No people-oriented principles, No inspiring leader and No hope for growth.

Good luck TN for more wonders and blunders of TN 2016 elections and also for a bright future with inspiring leaders like VK, MKS, AM, JJ.  😉 This too shall pass by. Another election will come and we hope for the best.

Wonders or blunders, Let us VOTE and decide.

ps: ”Dance of Democracy” is a title lifted from TOI’s election news page. This post is just a view of mine and no intention to portray or impose good or bad impression on any individual party. This is jusst an expression of my thoughts on day to day recent political incidents I came accross.

Raising Intolerance – Cheap Journalism.

I was just wondering about why there is so much fuss about the word INTOLERANCE & AAMIR. I watched the interview recently and it’s a usual interview with tactical questions from Top Journalist forum and Aamir’s views as answers. There are a lot of other things he spoke was constructive and totally ignored by the so call media and they only took the part where he stated about the intolerance ( insecurity ) and his wife’s conversation with him on the insecure feeling.

All these media hyped this to a new level and made it related to politics and portraying Aamir as anti-patriotic. This is just an act of cheap journalism and everything for TRP. HOT words from a HOT star – sells high in TRP or any other related term for other media. As a common man if I was a Muslim, I would have felt the same intolerance and alarmed about the general public and media’s perception of Terrorism related to Islam. Please, remove the religious tag from Terrorism.

It is all about the secure feeling that a nation gives to a common man. No matter what is your Foreign investment policy, no matter how the GDP grows, no matter about the stunning technology revolution, no matter on the new political policies and stands, a common man just want to feel secured wherever he lives. Even most of the Indian’s like me are feeling alarmed and insecure due to the recent activities of a nationwide religious movement and on their moral policing. This is just one example…and more to be listed.

I have a strong feeling that patriotism is getting out fashioned and unwanted in the current scenario. Let’s think Humanity, Let’s think Global. Raise your voice for truth, raise your voice for humanity. Let’s put an end to Cheap Journalism.

ps: here is the link on the interview given by Aamir which created the Aamir – Intolerance wave.

Equality in Quality …not this year….!

Today’s headlines…Tamil Nadu government cancels the “Uniform Education System” from this year. ( not sure its a complete stop or a temporary one ). There were lot of controversies when DMK implemented this two years back. But still they formed a committee with a group of experienced educationalists. They came up with a system which comprises both state board and matriculation syllabus. It was apposed by almost all the matric schools and most of the government school staffs.

The truth behind the things is…the syllabus is a good one…but its little low for Matric schools and TOOOO high for government school children ( TEACHERS). Without making any alterations in the implementation system in the government schools…the old DMK govt. implemented the system. But now the same thing is canceled by present government. I’m not sure about they did it for a good cause…or for a revenge sort of thing (cheap politics). But its time to stop this temporarily and get started with a extraordinary implementation system. Without a good implementation system…there will be lot of drop outs from the school…after 8th standard.

Lot to go…and lot to see…! Lets wish that atleast this government makes some considerable progress in Government school education. Both in terms of education and infrastructure.

My best and worst of 2009 (7 of 30)

Spoken through sand…Sand Language.  It was May 09, me along with my friends from Image created two sand sculptures for creating awareness on voting. It was my first experience to work on sand sculptures, not only for me for everyone it was the first experience.

5 hours of continuous work , hot sun, cool breeze, fun talks, sand baths etc., we made it successfully. The final out was more than we expected. Everyone was happy with that. I was very much surprised and amazed to see the response from the public. Hope we changed at least few hearts to vote in the elections. It was  a great team work and I thank Image and Balaji for giving that wonderful opportunity. Sand language was really Stupendous.

Its all about BEST and REST…!

Happy Independence Day…..by saying this once can display his patriotism. This is what happening today. I better wanted to call this day as social awareness day or social service day or Activism Day. Because lots of blood donation camps. medical camps, orphanage visits etc., are arranged today almost all the orphanages would be crowded with the good hearted persons…!

The happy thing is atleast in this day most ones get some awareness that they should atleast look back at the society. The good thing is that this kind of activities will change atleast few minds to contribute more to the society.

And coming to the point…this time I can say that this day is IN-DEPENDENT day . Because more basic things are still restricted in one way or other due these worse politicians.

Happy IN-DEPENDENCE day...!

Happy IN-DEPENDENCE day...!

Lack of quality in education in govt schools, restriction of higher studies due to family economy, less investment in Research and development in all the fields, going backwards in agriculture, increase in deaths due to droughts, no safe country for girls after 9.00 pm, no safe (good) roads to drive, no freedom to enjoy 24 hrs electricity, no control in increase in daily usable, increasing orphanages, etc., The list will continue. All the above said getting worse year by year. This is not a good sign of celebrating the 60 plus years of independence.

There are more things to be mentioned as improvement. I always look at the other side….because we need more improvement. People took activism os a one day can speak about best in the country. People took activism as a second profession can speak about the rest in the country, simply the real face of the country. So I come in second category.

And finally this day really good because of the vijay TV programs. Starting from Sivakumar’s tamil related program , neeya naana, yethu sudanthiram etc., this day was full of entertainments. Usually i take off from activism on this day. 🙂

Report on 12th std exam results – TN 2009

12th results has been announced last week .  The pass percentage has been bit decreased when compared to last year and the students from rural tamil nadu glitter this year. Students from Chennai faced a little set back this year. Unlike last year the govt schools in Chennai  lack in marks and pass percentage when compared to the govt  schools out of Chennai.

The Chennai corporation schools are not upto the mark this time. Few schools have recorded worst pass percentage. Happy news is few of the most backward districts of tamilnadu has shown a wonderful performance.

Please find the link for the detailed and reader friendly report on the 12th standard results 2009. The report talks about the govt school progress, pass percentage, top scorers district wise and in whole. Sorry for not able to cover all the districts. All the data’s in the report were collected from the news papers like Dinamalar, dinathanthi, thinamani, thinakaran, thina chudar, thamiz oosai, thamiz news, malai murasu, times of India, The Hindu, Indian express, malai malar, thina sudar.

Report : 12th std exam 2009 results review – district wise

Some of the interesting facts ,

  • For 24th consecutive year  virudunagar dt has topped the list in pass percentage.
  • None of the Govt/corp schools in Chennai has secured 100 percent pass percentage.
  • Around 5 schools has recorded less than 50% pass percentage.
  • DAV schools of Chennai take the credits of the TOP marks of Tamil nadu (non tamil as first language) 1190,1188,1186.
  • Top 10 students (three ranks) were from outside Chennai schools.

These facts apart, lets come to the review of the results. I’m not here just to play a blame game on the govt schools standards by comparing with the private schools. And for time being we cannot compare these two. Because for comparing  we should have at least few facts as competing.

The biggest organization with large infrastructures , highest man power , surplus money, lots of super brains, with more students strength and technology in hands. I mean govt as the organization. What else one need to run a school successfully. Why govt schools fail to make a mark ? They can say 1000 reasons for all these but how long we are gonna tell reasons ? When we are gonna work on solving this ?

I’m not blaming this particular govt..but all the past govts. All these years I have never  heard of a productive plans on improving quality in education of govt schools. No political party speaks about these area. No manifesto has given a clear promise in education department. I accept that infrastructure wise the govt schools are improved a lot. Computers reached almost all the schools. But what is the use in it..? Without having the efficient teachers and  with no proper monitoring  all these are waste of money.

Question the schools and staffs for the worst results ? Suspend the teachers who shown some poor performance without a valid reason. Provide performance based incentives to the teachers. Re validate the qualification of a teacher to enter the schools. Do more screening for selecting a teacher.  Give promotions only based on the performance and not only with the experience and say no to quota based postings. Please remove the reservation atleast for this department. The education minister should be well educated. Undertake all the management govt schools from the remote villages. Provide school busses/vans for students transportation. Set a standard for teachers skills and monitor for two years and if not met provide them VRS and appoint new teachers with high skills. Close almost all the B’Ed colleges started in the recent years and few colleges are enough to produce highly skilled teachers. Do not recognize D’Ed (diplomain teacher training).

Still  more things to consider. I just wanted to make a note that , Education department is the one to be given top most priority which in turn give lots of improvement in India. Reconsructing the teachers ability will bring more changes initially and then we can consider on other things of education department.

Still I dream for the day that no NGO’s are working for govt schools to provide quality in education and infrastructure. Else leave it to the NGO’s for few years and the young minds will bring a change for sure. And finally , government schools are not upto the mark and there is no reason to hide this.
