Completing second year …!

Happy to convey that , Blossom completes its second year on Oct 10th of 2008. The second years progress were really good and project QUEST has entered into the next level. When thinking of the year completion, the big thing strikes in my mind is Annual Activity Report.

Anyways, we have just started working on the Annual Report of year 2007-2008. Yet to confirm the outlay of the report. Though we have all the required data, organizing and alignment will eat more time.Anyway its part of the game and I can assure that the report will be released in the last week of October 2008.

Last years report preparation took more time due to some improper planning and we are sure this time it won’t be repeated. Finally Good luck for me to complete the report on time (onus is on me to complete the report).

p.s: BLOSSOM – is a social welfare organization.

Independence Day – are we …..?

It’s independence day today. And today till now Chennai is safe and breathing safe without any Bomb blasts. Since there was a hoax on Bomb blast on August 15th in Chennai, people were afraid and government has made some strict arrangements for several checkups in the main places of city.

For the past 15 to 20 days , the Chennai patrols were screwed up and regular checkups of vehicle’s and persons were made in most places of the city. That too in night times after ten there were more patrols roaming and we can able to see a policeman for every 100 to 200 meters. For good sake , nothing happened till now. And hope for the best and for rest of the days.

Is this a good sign of Independent India ?? Are we safe after this 61 years of Independence ?? Are we staying in one of the most peaceful country in the world ?? … I can say NO. Do we have answers and proper explanations for the above given questions ??

Lots of unclear and unanswered questions going around me . Nuclear Deal with US , Indo-US agriculture knowledge initiative with US, non religious/caste/community based political parties and leaders, imbalance in growth among the industries, indications of civil war, quality less education in public schools, lack of investments in RND , fastly dying Agriculture, increasing basic medications cost, loosing the culture, reservation systems in educational institutions and private sectors, non eligible politicians etc., etc., more things goes around my mind.

Apart from this , equally these positive things also goes around me. Responsible and social centric youths, awareness on child labor, freedom for women , awareness on importance of education, accessibility of technologies in all corners, growth on IT, social responsibility of software engineers and college students, growing number of NGO’s, Corporate ‘s Social Responsibility (CSR), proving young minds and few educated professionals in politics, the strength of youths etc., etc.,

Anyways , as a self and social responsible human being , I will always whole heatedly work for the development of society , better humanity and a clean world.  I (we) never wanted a Independence day like this year , wish some betterment in the coming years. Sorry to say this ….today is juts an another day for me.

Social responsibility – paying Taxes …!

We are nearing the financial year end. These months are the mind boggling months for the salaried employees. Especially
software engineers. Because every one should plan for tax savings.

Still I don’t know why most of them think, paying tax as a burden. No one thinks that it is our duty to pay proper taxes. Even though they pay the taxes properly , they pay it with a pain. Some (most) of them tries all the illegal ways to reduce the tax paying amount. Most of the peoples show the fake rental receipts , fake medical bills , fake bills for LTA etc., No one thinks before submitting these things.

Why this things happens ? why every one thinks paying tax as a burden ?

Is it due to lack of awareness ? Is it due to lack of transparency from the Indian government about, about where the money goes and how it was utilized ?

whatever may be the answers for these questions. Lets pay the taxes and then ask the questions. No meaning in asking questions without paying taxes.Paying taxes plays a vital role in a country’s development.Lets stop finding reasons ,Let’s pay our taxes happily.

I feel this as one of our social responsibility …!

Dec 6th – Day of Opportunism

Dec 6th. The day was considered one of the Black days in Indian History. Due to the demolition of Babri Mosque by Hindu activists .Truly speaking it was a drama planned and executed by some politicians. Ok , all these are old story.

But from that year onwards , dec 6th was made as a day of Opportunism. Every political party take this as a chance and make some processions and meetings . They take this day as a chance to earn more Muslim peoples in their vote bank. People would have almost forget the incident. But the political parties make them to remember this every year.

Today morning while coming to office , I have noticed a road side banner stating that ,

Dec 6th – rising day for dalit Muslim community “. This is the banner of a Tamil nadu political party formed for working towards the Dalit community. Most of the parties will arrange for processions and public meetings and speak about the old demolition things . The core intention of all the parties is to increase their vote banks and not to sove the problems related to that.

I feel this will increase the gap between the peoples of two religions . I wish the government should ban the processions and public meetings related to dec 6th issue. Dividing people is very easy , but uniting peoples is difficult.

Lets work on uniting peoples. Lets be aware of these opportunists (politicians) .

these are the thoughts came across me after i saw the road side banner … !
