It’s all about the most awaited movie of the year..”Vikram Vedha” with the lead actors Madhavan (maddy) & Vijay Sethupathi. After 7 years, the director duo is back with a brilliantly written action thriller with a base line adoption of well-known childhood tales “Vikaramathithyan & Vedhalam”. I’m a great fan of their earlier movies “Va Quarter cutting” & “Oram Poo” and this movie tops the chart among them.
It’s a visual treat to watch the on the flow brilliant and natural performances of Vijay Sethupati & Maddy. The battle here is between the minds and not the Good or Bad. The greatest thing about this movie is the screenplay. Whenever a story narrated by Vijay Sethupathi, it just kindles the curiosity in us and the final question asked by him makes everyone think of it for a prompt answer. Immediately after Maddy gives an answer…we were able to justify it and relate the story which is common for Vikram & Vedha. One can witness the brilliance of the director with these kinds of narration.
And moreover, Vijay Sethupathi’s introduction is the best ever introduction scene in the recent times and he is at his best again. Maddy’s meticulous reactions at few scenes make him one of the finest actors across film industries.
Finest casting, Unique story narration, brilliant screenplay, perfect direction, lead actors at their best, best BGM, well-framed dialogues, beautiful emotions of brothers and subtle love of a husband & Wife…what else we need from a movie.
Everybody has Vikram & Vedha as a part of them. Based on the situation, we are choosing to be Vikram or Vedha. It’s not about Hero or Villan, Good or Bad. It’s all about mind games… between Vikram-Vedha & Good-Bad. Good or Bad…Emotions are Same !!!
Negative publicity is the greatest bane of Cinema Industry in the recent times. It has different faces like reviews, memes etc., Earlier we used to see reviews and which is like more of a analysis of the movie. It was kind of positive reviews and was a great support for all the movies. But in the recent times, people started creating negative reviews and memes to get more “like” or “Fan”base. Facebook, Twitter, blogging sites, websites, Radio shows etc., plays a master role in carrying these negative publicity. No one thinks its a creation and all creations are not meant to be perfect for every ones eyes. Every creation has its own pros and cons. None of them is aware that they are indirectly destroying lot of creations and creators.
Here are few of the victims of negative publicity in Tamil film industry 7am Arivu, Anjaan, Maatraan, Maas, Kochadayaan, Linga and Puli. From the day one, these negative publicity is getting viral and it surely affec the next day or same day box office collections. Let the general public decide about the success and flop of a movie and not the so called intelligent and talented reviewers. Just keep one thing in mind that Movie is a creation and its a business and not a Magic which comes with no efforts. It’s all about everything for people associated with it.
Pre-Script: This post is about my thoughts and views about a Tamil Movie and not review. Purely No intention to judge and predict others talents.
Good vs Evil…that tells the one liner of the movie “Thani Oruvan”. A script bounded movie with a strong screenplay, right into the head dialogues, perfect cast and background score (BGM). Good to see Arvind Swamy back on screen with a lot of style factors. Elegant look, mesmerizing voice, sexy ascent etc., everything related to Arvind Swamy is awesome. Usual kind of role for Jeyam Ravi and he did his job perfect. Handsome and suited well for Cop character. A risky movie for him as the antagonist’s character has a lot of scopes when compared to him. Nayantara’s role is short but sweet and perfect. One can simply sit and watch the screen presence of her.
Smart Villian characters ( Smart in looks and brain ) have always been a hit in Tamil Industry. This time, the whole credit goes to the character Siddharth Abhimanyu (Arvind Swamy). He tempts us to watch this movie for the second time.
Dialogues were an additional strength to this movie. Truth and depth in few dialogues added more value. Hats off to the writer and director Raja Mohan & Co-writer Subha. Casting is the bigger strength of this movie. This movie has the perfect cast in each and every role starting from Cop friends of Jeyam Ravi to co-villain characters. Haven’t expected a great BGM music from HipHop Thamiza, songs were also good. Especially lyrics in “Thani Oruvan” and “Theemai Thaan Vellum”songs are excellent.
Overall a brilliant movie with good and strong social message. It is been a big surprise, as most of us haven’t expected this kind of a brilliance from Dir.Raja. Anyways, thanks for the wonderful experience and best wishes to do more of this brilliance in future scripts. Good breakthrough movie for Jeyam Ravi and of course for Arvind Swamy.
Perks: Got to see a Facebook post from a friend with the imagination of Kamal Hasan & RajiniKanth in this movie as Good and Evil. Really a good thought and just imagining the success and reach of the movie. 🙂
Bahubali – India’s biggest movie, stunning sets, decent CG, good casting and screenplay best describes this movie. Really a next level movie for Indian cinema industry. More of these kind of films to be produced to showcase the history of strengths of our epics, kings and kingdoms. Wise decision from Rajamouli to release the part 2 as it created lot of expectations in the part 1. Hopefully the part2 will be much more technical and excelling in CG.
Excellent performances from Prabhas, Rana, Ramya krishnan, Sathyaraj (Kittappa), Nazer, Prabhakar (The Villain) took hold of this film. BGM was also excellent. Commercial songs and Tammanah’s few scenes were setback for this film. Over all a nice experience watching this movie. Long way to go to compare it with Brave heart and other hollywood movies. But still this movie has proved that we are capable of making those kind of movies if the budget permits.
Awaiting to see Anushka’s stunning performance in part 2. Great job Dir. Rajamouli and congrats for the huge collection at box office.
ps: its purely my view on the movie and no intention to judge other talents and works.
Mankatha – Ajith’s freaky game. It’s like a celebration movie for ajith n his fans . Unusual ajith movie, unusual venkat Prabhu movie, unusual Tamil movie but with usual English movies story line. A colorful movie and quite a entertainer for ajith fans and those who are not looking usual venkat movie.
A brave attempt by ajith by not considering the so called image. Acting a character of his own age and own looks, giving equal space to the costars …. Ajith rocks all over the movie. The rapport between ajith n Arjun is awesome. Yuvan rocks with his high beat. Songs spreads lot of energy in this movie. Trisha adds more romantic flavors… Makes a perfect pair with ajith. JP and Arjun perfect selection for this movie. Brilliant performance.
Manly performance , stylish looks , classy moves … Nothing more to say it’s Ajith’s game. Just a celebration by and for ajith n fans . With little increased pace in the screenplay and less dramatic gun fights the movie will be liked by everyone. Might be cutting down some twenty mins will add more value. Ajith is lucky to get venkat for his 50th movie. Just for making it a ajith movie. Worth watching it for some unusual experience. A game with strictly no logic n no rules…just watch it for entertainment .
Ps: it’s just my views about the movie. There is no intention to hurt anyone.
Got to watch the Tamil movie – Vamsam in theater few days back. As I was much impressed with the director Pandiraj’s previous movie “pasanga”, my expectations was lil bit high. And the review in Ananda vikadan – a Tamil weekly magazine also added more expectations into me. While watching the movie I was lil bit disappointed with a usual village subject with normal stuffs. But the efforts were good and cleanly displayed. The second half of the movie is good, especially Jayaprakash and Kishore’s performance were extraordinary.
But I feel, director Pandiraj can do much more than this.I feel these kind of subjects need a good music. But this movie failed to impress with the music. But one thing I hate with this move , not only with this movie and with all other movies is when it was about a particular caste system. Told positive or negative, but it creates impact on common people. Cinema is not only a entertainment media for most ppl, it travels beyond that. It gets into many lives and hearts an a sensitive media too.
This generation doesn’t need the things related to caste system and the stories related to that. It will create a impact on this generation too. We don’t want to see a caste based division and discrimination again with our generation. And we need our next generation without caste system existence. I’m aware that these caste and subdivision are created with some good reason, but all the ex-generation gentlemen spoiled those values and now it is carried with different note and intention. And with the rapidly changing in the attitude of the living style , these things doesn’t mean much. So better to avoid to deal it detail in the movies.
Coming to this film Vamsam, the movie deals with a south region caste and portrayed the so called tradition and culture. The worst part is , few of my friends being a good critic , they like this movie and praised this movie blindly with no reason. I wondered why it was…then while discussing to them in detail, I came to know that they are from the same caste and region and they feel proud about this. I’m not finding a fault in them. Because movies is not only a entertainment , it also creates impacts. What we say culture and tradition in movies are not actually. Things were created for good cause and later it has been used for different cause.
Lets create a new caste & religion free world for our next modern generation. Wish every director should have some social responsibility.
ps: about the movie is afterall my views and not review. Perception varies…just expressed my views.
New type of Fever started…! Lot of expectations…lots of predications…! Unbelievable response for the audio release…sky rocking sales in one day…! The biggest ever deal for audio rights in Indian Cinema industry. Can any actor or any movie or any director create this much hype with all genres of people? All this due to the the MAGIC Man Rajinikanth.
With the GOD of Tamil film industry (hey guys no comparison with Kamal here..commercial success is a success when it comes to bussiness and So Rajini), with the most successful commercial director of South Indian film Industry, with GOD of Indian film musics also world’s one of the great musician, with the most admired beautiful women actress, with India’s best sound editor…no wonder with the magic gonna happen with Enthiran’s release.
